Non-Filing Verification

Please provide evidence that you were not required to file taxes for 2023. You can learn about filing requirements here.

For an individual who has not filed and, under IRS or other relevant tax authority rules is not required to file a 2023 income tax return—

 Please provide:

• A copy of IRS Form W–2 for each source of 2023 employment income received or an equivalent document (Social Security wage statement)
• Except for dependent students, a Verification of Nonfiling (VONF) letter for individuals who would file a return with a relevant tax authority other than the IRS dated on or after October 1, 2024. (4506-T)

 

By signing this document you are certifying that you:

- are not required to file a 2023 income tax return

                               OR

- do not have an SSN, ITIN, or EIN if you are an individual without a Social Security number (SSN), Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN), or Employer Identification Number (EIN)

Please submit this form with any documentation needed to verify your situation. We will make corrections to your FAFSA data if needed. Be aware that if you did not file a 2023 federal tax return but your income amount indicates you should have, you must complete this step before we can award any federal student aid.
