Echocardiography Program Application

The following is required to complete a successful application

Complete the Danville Area Community College application if not currently enrolled in college credit courses at DACC. (DACC ID required to complete application)

Official transcripts from all colleges or universities previously attended must be on file with DACC Records Office.

Submit unofficial or copies of all transcripts, including DACC transcripts. You are responsible for obtaining copies of transcripts and submit at the end of this application.

The following prerequisite courses are the classes you must complete (Grade “C” or better) to be considered for the program IF you do not hold a Bachelor's degree or higher.

MATH 108 (Intermediate Algebra) OR MATH 111 (College Algebra)

BIOL 136 (Anatomy and Physiology I)

BIOL 137 (Anatomy and Physiology II)

PHYS 141 (Physical Science I)

Applicants must attend a mandatory Echocardiography Informative Session.

For this application period, the informative session is online. By signing up using the link, the informative session will be sent to you via email.

All applicants are required to take the TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills), Version 7, within one year of applying.

Students may attempt the TEAS test up to two times within that year.

Step-by-step instructions: Please select "TEAS for Nursing School" as your exam search criteria. The exams are the same; however, if "Allied Health School" is selected, the nearest testing location is in Springfield.

A $50.00 non-refundable application fee must be paid at the Cashier's Office in Vermilion Hall. A copy of the receipt must be included with the application.

Are you interested in applying to more than one Medical Imaging Program? DACC Medical Imaging offers 3 Programs: Echocardiography, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, and Radiologic Technology. All 3 programs have the same pre-requisite courses so any student who has the pre-req's completed are eligible to apply to all 3 programs. I understand that upon being admitted to the program, I must pass a physical examination and drug testing approved by Danville Area Community College. I understand that any false or misleading statements made by me on this application will prevent my acceptance into the program or may be cause for dismissal if accepted. I understand that the clinical affiliates require background checks, and thus, students must undergo criminal background checks and drug testing before entering the program. At DACC, we updated all of our program manuals to state: “DACC does not rely on drug test results to deny access to any academic program for any student who is 21 or over and tests positive for marijuana. However, most clinical sites require a test for marijuana and do not allow students to complete clinicals if the test is positive. The clinical is a requirement of this program, and thus if DACC does not have a clinical partner that allows positive tests, students may not be able to complete the program. The appropriate form will be sent to me upon acceptance to the program. I also understand that if the results of the background check prevent me from participating at the clinical sites, I will not be able to enter the program.
