PLEASE READ:
DACC performs verification on all financial aid applicant’s files selected by the Department of Education. In this process, we will be comparing information from your FAFSA application with signed copies of your and your household’s 2021 federal tax information or other financial documents. The law states that we have the right to ask you for this information before awarding federal aid. Your school must review the requested information, under the financial aid program rule (CFR Title 34, Part 668). If there are differences between your FAFSA application information and your financial documents, you may need to send in corrections on your Student Aid Report (SAR), or our office may send corrections electronically.
How to prepare for verification:
1. Based on your dependency status, collect your, your parent’s, and/or spouse’s financial documents where applicable.
2. Complete and sign the worksheet in its entirety.
3. Upload copies of tax transcripts and any other document requested using your Self Service portal. If you and/or your spouse/parent earned income in 2021 but did not file, submit copies of your W2 forms AND call (800)908-9946 to request a letter of non-filing for the year 2021 from the IRS.
4. All verification documents must be submitted by the semester bill due dates to avoid a hold on your student account.
Failure to supply requested verification documentation will result in aid not being awarded. All verification must be completed by the end of the term or the aide will be nulled.
5. All students must have an official copy of their high school transcript or GED is on file with the DACC Records department.
Note: Your financial aid file will not be discussed with any person for whom we do not have a FERPA release (section E, #12).
